How true. This is the time to build a relationship on a more equal footing rather than ask for referrals or job openings. What is more collegial than getting together with one or several people for a drink, some laughs, and good conversation. It’s also a great way to find out where you might be able to help them and put the law of reciprocity into play. This means, if you can do something for them they will be more than happy to try to return the favor down the road. But don’t do it looking for an immediate quid pro quo. Instead think of this as banking “social capital” that will one day yield a return. Thanks for your comment.
